Today we shall learn how to change the voice of Imperative sentences.
Rule 1 : imperative sentences begin with principle Verb
Example : Active : Close the window.
Passive : Let the window be closed.
Position : 1 2 3 4
Discussion of the answer : Position 1 : At first we should write " Let
Position 2: in this position we should put the object
position 3 : We should put "be"
position 4 : We should write the past participle form of the verb.
Rule 2 : Imperative Sentences begin with "do not"
Example : Active : Do not close the window.
Passive : Let not the window be closed.
Discussion of the answer : Position 1 : At first we should write " Let not"
Position 2: in this position we should put the object
position 3 : We should put "be"
position 4 : We should write the past participle form of the verb.
Rule 3 : Imperative sentences begin with ' Let + object"
Example : Active : Let him finish the work.
Passive : Let the work be finished by him.
Discussion of the answer : This rule is just same to above two rules but we have to write by + object that is given just after "let'
Rule 4 : Imperative sentences with " Please/ kindly '
Example : Active : please/kindly help the poor.
Passive : You are requested to help the poor.
Discussion of the answer : Here we should use "You are requested" just instead of Please/ kindly
then we should use to and after that the rest part of the given sentence.
Rule 5 : Imperative sentences " Principle Verb + object "
Example : Active : Buy me a pen.
passive : Let a pen be bought for me.
Discussion of the answer : Here we have to use for before the object given after principle verb of the given sentence.
Rule 6 : Imperative sentence with no object.
Example : Active : Go home
Passive : you are told to go home.
Discussion of the answer : If we can not understand clearly about the given sentence that whether it is advise/ order etc then we should use told.
